Capital Credit Union was founded in June 1989; it was originally set up to serve local authority staff employed by Lothian Regional Council. Today we are open to anyone who lives or works throughout Scotland’s North East, Central, East and Borders regions, or members of bona fide organisations.
The Credit Union is run on behalf of its members, by a volunteer Board of Directors elected annually at an Annual General Meeting. The Credit Union employs 25 staff including a Chief Executive, whose role is to manage the day-to-day operations and deliver quality services and products to members and key stakeholders.
The Credit Union’s aim is to expand its services and products to a wide range of people and provide access to affordable credit for our members. As the Credit Union grows there are more regulation and accounting requirements, therefore the Finance Department is critical to the growth of the Credit Union. The Head of Finance will work closely with the Finance, IT and Credit Control Teams to ensure that we provide accurate and timely management information and a first-class service to our members.
