Job Summary:
The Head of Tax will be responsible for overseeing all tax-related matters within the company, ensuring compliance with UK tax regulations and optimising tax efficiency.
The role involves strategic planning, risk management, and providing expert advice on corporate tax, VAT, and other relevant tax areas. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in tax management, strong analytical skills, and the ability to navigate complex tax issues.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead on the company’s tax strategy to ensure compliance and efficiency.
  • Oversee all corporate tax, VAT, and other tax obligations, ensuring timely and accurate filings.
  • Provide strategic advice on tax implications for business operations and transactions.
  • Manage relationships with HMRC and external advisors, ensuring effective communication and issue resolution.
  • Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess their impact on the business.
  • Work closely with key stakeholders to integrate tax considerations into business decisions.
  • Support potential M&A activity by evaluating tax implications and structuring transactions effectively.
  • Oversee tax audits, ensuring appropriate documentation and compliance.

Key Requirements:
  • ACA, CTA, or equivalent tax qualification.
  • Minimum 6 years of tax experience, ideally within a complex commercial business or a leading accountancy firm.
  • Strong knowledge of UK corporate tax, VAT, and other applicable taxes.
  • Experience in managing tax risk and compliance.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including HMRC and advisors.
  • Commercial mindset with the ability to provide strategic business insights.
